BRIGHTON'S 2ND BIRTHDAY - 4/30/2024

 

April 30, 2024
Today is Brighton’s 2^nd Heavenly birthday! I love knowing that his birthday in Heaven is an amazing celebration and that he is so loved and cared for. We love you sweet boy!

Kyle was out of town for work which made me sad that he was alone today. Lassen and I made a crumb cake and lit 2 candles and the birthday cake candle from Suzy and sang Happy Birthday at breakfast. We went down to Brown County and hiked with a friend and her two girls. We hiked around Ogle Lake and it was so much fun. Bridges, steps, tadpoles, turtles, frogs, snakes and salamanders. But the best part were the butterflies! We stopped by the lake at the end and they were literally everywhere. So many colors and designs. Lassen was running around amongst all of them and it was this beautiful moment where I just knew Brighton was with us.

Several friends texted throughout the day and we received really special gifts too. Just so nice to know that Brighton is loved and remembered. Suzy even got us a cake that when you opened up the box it was in, all of these beautiful butterflies flew out! We sent out an email giving people the chance to support Promise Housing in honor of Brighton and I received so many emails with donations today! Incredible. Our village is strong and mighty! 

I felt so much love, but I felt so bad for Kyle as so often, the dad gets left out. My mom was the only person who texted him today. She is so good at remembering and reaching out. Please Lord, comfort Kyle and remind him that You know the pain of losing a child.

It is baby month already! Where has this year gone? I am almost 36 weeks and still feeling great. Baby is moving around so much. I have no idea if they’re in the right position but I know God is in control and however this baby comes is the right way. Feeling really ready for him/her to be here safe and sound, but also soaking up this time with Lassen. Everything will change but it will be so good! We are also coming up on June 5^th, which was when we found out we lost our baby last year. Such pain, yet God is redemptive and has a plan no matter the situation.

I am officially the most pregnant I’ve ever been. So thankful this baby has made it this far. Physically I still feel great and am walking 3-4 miles a day plus doing all the things. Mentally and emotionally, I think Kyle and I are both ready. I am going to ask at my appointment Friday to schedule an induction around the 23-24^th. She offered it to me at my last appointment and we wanted to think about it.

Lassen and Kyle camped out in the backyard last night which was fun. I set up our little tent in the baby’s room so Lassen can camp out in there for the next week since it’ll be so hot. I think he will love that!

June 18, 2024
38 weeks and 2 days and I’m shockingly still pregnant with good blood pressure! I am on the list for an induction Sunday night, June 23! Praying this baby comes on their own but so excited either way. We built Lassen and the new baby a swing set this weekend out back which he is loving. I can’t wait to see the two of them swinging out there!

We have our baby names finalized! Now we wait. God has provided such peace and hope during this pregnancy. Praying this delivery is redemptive in so many ways!
