MY JOY WILL BE MADE COMPLETE IN HEAVEN

We went and picked out our trees for Brighton today. I hope he knows how much we love him and can see the trees we picked. Kyle, Lassen, and I have a Bur Oak to honor him, Mom and Dad a Red Pointe Maple, and a huge tulip poplar from Grandma and all my aunts and uncles on the Floyd side. We plan on planting them on Saturday when we have some help.

Lassen prays every night “Jesus, I love you!” Jesus, WE love you! Thank you for holding our hearts close.

We planted Brighton’s trees in the pouring down rain this morning. It seemed fitting in a way – the Heavens were crying for us, or as Kyle said to Lassen, Brighton was helping our trees out by giving them rain😊 All of Kyle’s family came out and helped us amidst the downpour and it was beautiful.

Praying that these trees grow big and strong and will always be a reminder of Brighton, his legacy, and the goodness of God.

Lassen was having so much fun in the rain and it was just really rewarding to be working so hard for our son. The day even ended with an incredible full, double rainbow! Really thankful.

Psalm 19:1
“The Heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the works of His hands.”

I read through all of the medical notes while I was in the hospital with Brighton. Two sections stood out prominently in the notes from Dr. Foxlow after I delivered:

“…she delivered a liveborn male infant…”
“…the infant’s heartrate was approximately 50 bpm.”
You made it here Brighton! I am still in awe of you and how strong you were!

I held Noah for the first time today. It was hard and I cried but it was good. Brighton’s feet were much bigger than Noah’s- they were as long as my thumb and Noah’s are a thumbnail shorter. Miss you sweet boy.

The last two days were really good – Mom and Dad came over and spent the night and we had a great time. We toured the farm and the new house and watered the trees and had Pizza King and hiked at the nature park and went to the library and spent a lot of time just playing. So good!

Mom helped me transfer Brighton’s ashes into a smaller container for us to take to the Smokies as we plan on releasing some of his ashes down there. I hadn’t looked at his ashes at all yet so it was hard to do, but I was so glad she was there with me.

Praying for joy this weekend as we release Brighton into the Smokies.
