JUST DELIGHT
April 3, 2025
Tonight was really special as we were invited to a dinner for
everyone involved with the Isaiah House build here in Greencastle. The Isaiah
117 organization provides a home for kids going into foster care and we were
fortunate that one was built in our town to support kids on the hardest days of
their lives. The Brighton Gift this year was chosen by Kyle’s sister Kayla and
her family and they picked the Isaiah 117 house. Chris pledged an amount so
that we could name the Family Meeting Room the Brighton Room! Our family had an
opportunity to tour the home a few weeks ago and it is beautiful. At the
dinner, Rissa (the woman who pushed for this house to become a reality) talked
about Brighton’s Room and had an incredible metal plaque made with his name and
a butterfly on it. Another family in town lost their 18 month old son and the boys
room will be dedicated to him. My friend Sam dedicated a tub of clothes for 6-9
month old boys in honor of her son Tony. This house is already so special and I’m
just thankful Brighton continues to make a difference.

It is so hard to believe it is almost Brighton’s birthday- his third
Heavenly birthday! Of course, there are always complicated emotions. I miss
him, yet I feel like I don’t know who he is, yet at the same time, I knew him
more intimately than any of my other children. I felt every single movement he
ever made. I held him from beginning to end. How precious to know God gave me
that sacred time with him. I wanted to share him with the world, and we are,
just not how I expected. This year, we will ask for donations to the Isaiah
House in Brighton’s memory. God continues to use you in big ways my love! We
are so thankful to be on this journey – one year closer! Happy Birthday sweet
boy!

1 Kings 14:13…God took Jeroboam’s son (he died)…God took the one who
pleases Him!
“God takes the boy because He delights in Him. That’s all. Just
delight. He brings him home to Himself. The boy escapes the wicked world his
earthly father rules and goes to the peaceful home of his Heavenly Father.”
I’m going through the Bible
Recap (highly recommend!) for the second time and I love what was written in
the devotional. God delights in Brighton. Never will he feel the wickedness of
this world. Only peace! For that, I can be thankful.
