Hiking in Brown County

Jesus, please be with our sweet Brighton. I pray Lord that You do whatever is best for him and that whatever happens, You will protect our hearts and give us reassurance that our son is safely with You. We love You Jesus and I pray that You will tell our son all about me and Kyle and Lassen and his family who loves him. God, I also pray that you protect Lassen’s heart. He is always laying his head on my belly and saying “baby.” He points at the ultrasound pictures and says, “baby.” It is so sweet but breaks my heart for him. He has the biggest, cheeky smile when he says it and I just really know he would be (and already is) a fantastic big brother. I would love for him to have that relationship someday. I pray that Kyle and I have the right words to explain what is happening and that we always talk about Brighton and give Lassen the opportunities to love his brother.

We went out to the farm today to see where our house will be built. Just another bittersweet thing happening in our lives...the privilege of building our dream home, yet knowing that most likely our baby will never grow up here.

I can’t believe Lassen will be 2 next Sunday! My boy is so smart and using so many more words every day. He points out babies everywhere. He’s so sweet and I pray that he doesn’t feel the sting of sadness with Brighton. I am thankful we have made Brighton very much a topic of conversation and we all feel like we know him.

I am 30 weeks today! There was a point I wasn’t sure we would make it this far and he’s still kicking and moving and just being the sweetest. Thank You Jesus! Please keep growing! God, I pray that you protect Brighton during delivery and that You put him in the position that will protect him the most. Help me to be strong and able to get him out quickly and safely. Please God, if it is best for Brighton, let him be with us if even only for a few minutes. But Lord, if he will be in any distress, please take him with You and protect our hearts. I just want what is best for him.
