BIG BROTHER

 

We decided we would love for Lassen to become a big brother if it was in God’s plan and for the second time, we got pregnant right away. We found out on September 11, 2021, while we were on vacation with friends in one of our favorite places, Gatlinburg, TN. We were so excited and bought Lassen a “Brother Bear” shirt in hopes that we could surprise our family in a few weeks. This baby got to go on a few really tough hikes before we came back home too. Sweet memories were already being made. 

I love that God cares about the little things, and knows the ways to comfort our hearts. Ever since I found out I was pregnant with Brighton, every single day, at least once, I will randomly look at the clock and the time will be 9:11. Even to this day, more than three years later which is just so wild! God reminds me that He knit Brighton together in my womb (Psalm 139) and that even on the day I had just found out about him, his life had purpose and continues to have purpose.

I got to see my baby on the big screen today! Kyle wasn’t allowed to be there at my first ultrasound, but I was able to facetime him and the office emailed me pictures and videos! My sweet babe had a great heartbeat of 148 bpm. Based on my period, I am 8 weeks but the baby measured 7 weeks, 1 day so my new due date is May 24, 2022! I did have a subchorionic hematoma that the doctor didn’t seem concerned about, but she will follow up next time. Praying it has reabsorbed by the next visit. Just so thankful for a healthy baby so far!

The doctor that I had with Lassen had left the practice, so I needed to choose another doctor. God was so good in helping me choose who to be with, because the doctor and nurse that He gave me ended up being absolute blessings.

I took some adorable pictures of Lassen in his “Brother Bear” shirt today holding the ultrasound pictures. We facetimed Mom and Dad tonight and they were so surprised – Lassen was wearing his shirt and once he stood still long enough for them to read it, they got it!

I found out today that I can’t run until my next appointment to make sure the hematoma has gone away. So bummed because I love running through pregnancy, but I know I can stay healthy through walking. As long as my baby is healthy!

I couldn’t believe it! Kyle would never make a guess of what gender he thought Lassen was going to be. Last night, he told Lassen he was having a SISTER!

Today, Lassen and I met mom and dad for lunch as they are on their way down to Florida for a few weeks. It was so fun to see them. Mom had a huge gift bag for all of us including the baby! She is the best gift giver. Lassen got some new books, including one about being a big brother. Our sweet baby got a sweatshirt that says “the Adventure Begins.” We definitely are excited!
